Frequently Asked Questions

Rollover Protective Structures (ROPS) are designed to protect the operator from injuries caused by vehicle rollovers. They are professionally fitted by specialists to a range of vehicles. CDG Engineering caters mainly for on-highway trucks.

Falling Object Protective Structures (FOPS) are a safety device fitted to a tractor, truck, or other machinery. They prevent the operator being harmed in the event of something falling onto the machinery or roof of the vehicle.

Our ROPS and FOPS comply with and are certified according to ISO 3471 and 3449 international standards.

CDG Engineering supplies ROPS kits to body building companies across Australia. Owner operators can also purchase the kits, as long as qualified staff follow specific procedures to complete the installation. CDG Engineering would be happy to provide guidance.

Yes, CDG Engineering can supply ROPS and FOPS kits across Australia and overseas.

The time it takes to install ROPS and FOPS depends on the vehicle. If the area on the chassis where the ROPS mounts would go needs stripping, this would take longer than a clear chassis. We recommend allowing between 1-3 days for installation.

CDG Engineering recommends an inspection of the ROPS mounts, torque of fasteners, and general condition of the structure be completed regularly by your staff. If you have any concerns, we recommend booking an inspection with the original manufacturer.

Generally, inspections are only required when the vehicle has been involved in an accident or incident where the ROPS may have been damaged/impacted.
